After practicing energy conservation by not using power unless really needed, and after using the most efficient methods for consuming energy when we do use it, the next step is having our energy sources be as clean as possible. Fortunately, as a result of state law, the utility grid in CA is getting greener every year and headed towards 100% clean energy. (Both Pioneer Community Energy and PG&E are fast approaching 50% renewable energy in their standard power mix.) While that is happening, there are already options for purchasing 100% green power from either PG&E or Pioneer Community Energy. And of course, there is producing your own clean power via the sun, using solar electrcity for powering homes, pumps, and vehicles.
