We exist to create the political will for climate solutions by enabling individual breakthroughs in the exercise of personal and political power. Our supporters are organized in 420+ chapters across the United states building support in Congress for a national bipartisan solution to climate change.

NCC CCL is very active in the community having participated in three 4th of July parades, the Nevada County Fair and numerous tabling sessions at events in both Nevada City and Grass Valley.

Members from our local chapter frequently meet with our US District 3 congressional representative to discuss the benefits of climate change legislation. We are currently advocating for The BIG WIRES Act that would establish requirements to make electric grid more reliable and resilient.

Another piece of powerful legislation is the Energy Innovation and Carbon Fee and Dividend bill. This bill imposes a fee on the carbon content of fuels, including crude oil, natural gas, coal, or any other product derived from those fuels that will be used so as to emit greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The fees must be deposited into a Carbon Dividend Trust Fund and used for administrative expenses and dividend payments to U.S. citizens or lawful residents.
